Legal Update

This week all pension plan members will receive notification in the post giving details of action required by you if you wish to be considered for inclusion in the forthcoming claim against Ford Motor Company for mis- selling of your pension. The two letters you will receive are as follows:

The date for the court case has been finalised. It is due to start some time in the week commencing 21st January 2013 and is set to last between 7 and 10 days.

Weekly Update

Two more MPs have signed the Early Day Motion and Ford have been stung into a response.  Ford have sent a briefing letter to all of the MPs who signed the E.D.M., in which they try to deflect any criticism.The Committee are working on a letter countering the Ford claims and pointing out that Ford are misleading the MPs with some of the content in their briefing letter.
The M.E.P. group leading the petition of the European Parliament have requested some further information and have suggested a route to move the petition forward.
It's been suggested that the 3rd Anniversary of the administration and entry into the PPF should be marked with a rally/meeting/march? in London on Wednesday 28th March, a midweek date (as opposed to the actual anniversary date which falls on Saturday 31st) would provide an opportunity for speeches from MPs and Union officials, and greater coverage in the media.

Rob Williams has written to Unite Executive Officers with these proposals and to get their support.
Over 150 people attended the Swansea meeting on Wednesday 25th January with a fair number declaring interest in attending  the anniversary rally in March. Well done to the Swansea boys for the united commitment in fighting for pensions reinstatement.
The next Swansea meeting is on Wednesday 14th March at the Railwaymens Club and Institute, Wind Street, Swansea, 7.30 pm. Also a big thanks to those members who travel to Swansea from Essex and sharing information at the meeting.
The next meeting at the Ford Sports Club, Basildon on the 2nd February will start at 7.30 pm sharp as the road leading to the club will be closed after 9.00pm.
Another healthy attendance at the Rayleigh protest last Saturday. Special thanks to you regulars who bother to come out week after week, sometimes in poor weather promoting the plight of Visteon members loss and keeping our cause in the public eye.... a few new bodies would be welcome!!!!!!

I WAS TOLD YOU HAVE TO BE EMPLOYED FOR 6 MOUTHS BEFORE YOU CAN JOIN THE PENSION FUND THIS I DID,STARTED IN THE FUND ON 16/01/1991. FORD IN SWANSEA WOULD BE MY LAST EMPLOYER SO I TRANSFERRED MY PENSION FROM MY 2 PREVIOUS JOBS. ONE WAS A LARGE PENSION WITH THE METAL BOX COMPANY IN NEATH (18 YEARS )AND ONE WITH A SMALL JOB E.E.S. IN PORT TALBOT FORD AND VISTEON OFFERED ME ADDITIONAL SERVICE OF 19 YEARS AND 4 MONTHS

I ALSO HAD 18 YEARS AND 5 MONTHS IN FORD VISTEON WHEN I FINISHED THIS GIVE ME PENSIONABLE SERVICE OF 37 YEARS 9 MONTHS. THE PAPER WORK TO TRANSFER MY OLD PENSIONS INTO FORDS/VISTEON WAS NOT SMALL AND THE FORMS TO SIGNED WERE NUMEROUS. WHEN WE WENT INTO VISTEON WE WERE TOLD THAT THE PENSION WAS MIRRORED TO FORDS FOR LIFE DO YOU THINK I WOULD HAVE WASTED MY 37 YEARS 9 MONTHS PENSION TO A FIRM THAT IS SUPPOSEDLY A SUBSIDIARY OF THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY WITHOUT GUARANTEES
